Materials

At Bax, gold is not simply a metal, but the result of a perfect

chemical and artistic equation.

All our jewelry is made exclusively from 18-carat gold (750/1000

fineness). This means that every gram of metal is composed of

75% pure gold, while the remaining 25% consists of carefully balanced

precious alloys. It is this secret "recipe" that gives the jewelry

the necessary hardness for setting, wear resistance, and the specific

desired coloration.

Here are the technical specifications for our four gold variations:

18 CT YELLOW GOLD:

•

•

Technical composition: the alloy is obtained by combining 75% pure

gold with a balanced percentage of silver and copper. Silver

mitigates the redness of copper, while copper provides mechanical

resistance.

•

•

Characteristics: the result is an intense, warm, and deep yellow

that does not fade over time. Unlike plating, the color is intrinsic to the

metal. The final manual polishing enhances the gold's natural reflectivity,

creating a mirror-like surface ideal for making emeralds and rubies stand

out.

18 CT WHITE GOLD:

•

•

Technical composition: to 75% yellow gold, an alloy of "whitening"

metals such as silver and palladium (a rare metal from the platinum

group) is added, which neutralizes the natural yellow of the gold.

•

•

The finishing process: to achieve that absolute, vibrant ice-white,

the jewelry undergoes a galvanic bath of Rhodium (Rhodium plating).

Rhodium is a very precious metal that protects the jewelry from oxidation

and maximizes its brilliance, creating the perfect optical base for white

diamonds, making them appear visually larger and brighter.

18 CT ROSE GOLD:

•

•

Technical composition: while maintaining the 750 fineness of pure gold,

the percentage of copper in the remaining alloy is increased, and that of

silver is decreased. It is copper that gives the characteristic pink hue.

•

•

Characteristics: our specific alloy is designed to ensure color stability

over time. It is a tough, very resistant metal that offers a warm, vintage

aesthetic, particularly suitable for setting brown diamonds and colored

stones, creating a soft chromatic continuum pleasing to the eye.

18 CT BLACK GOLD:

•

•

Technical composition: it is a precious variant of 18-carat gold,

subjected to a surface treatment called black rhodium plating. This

process consists of applying a very thin layer of black rhodium—a

metal from the platinum family—which gives the jewelry an intense,

dark, and luminous finish•

•

Characteristics: this is not a simple painting, but a molecular bond on the

surface. The result is a deep and elegant color, similar to anthracite, that

combines the luster of noble metal with a modern, sophisticated, and bold

aesthetic. Ideal for those looking for an alternative to classic yellow or

white gold, rhodium-plated black gold expresses personality, style, and

character.

•

Maintenance note: being a high-tech surface treatment, black gold is a

"living" material that can evolve over time at points of greater friction,

revealing the soul of the underlying gold and telling the story of the wearer.

HAND POLISHING

Regardless of the alloy color, the final stage is what distinguishes Bax Jewels

from mass production. We do not use industrial tumbling machines (which

polish through indiscriminate mechanical friction).

Every single ring, bracelet, earring, and necklace is hand-polished by our

artisans with specific brushes and abrasive pastes. This allows us to reach

even the most hidden crevices near the stone settings, ensuring uniform

brilliance and a silky feel that only high jewelry can offer.
